Melted from the sun
Deep in the earth, there is a body
Ones whose wings ache and burn
Like the kiss from Holly
Splotches of red, pain, and what is torn
Fallen in a pool of rich-bodied moss
There is a grave
A web, woven as thin as floss
Bares the markings
The name Icarus
Parted through splotches of light
And shadows and glares
The body of Icarus lies buried there
Under hills of green and thickly parted trees
Whose roots grow and blossom
Between mountains of gold
Where they danced and follied
Lies crimson and pearl
Melted like wax
Fallen in a pool of rich-bodied moss
There is a body
Echoes of pollen, riddled with brown
Lies crimson and pearl
Between blankets of blue and grey
Echoes a face, buried deep
The coldness holds their last weep
Tears lay stained upon the cheek
Of the body Icarus
Hidden in the cold of night
Blanketed by green
And whispered to be taken from the sky
There was a body
